Whether you’re getting into the Halloween spirit or just looking for something paranormal, we’ve rounded up some scary websites that will definitely send a shiver down your spine. If you love a good scare, these websites won’t let you down.

Creepypasta

Are you in the mood for scary stories that range from somewhat disturbing to outright scary? Well, Creepypasta is the site for you! The stories are user-created, but I’ve found that many of them are terrifying, to say the least.

The website is updated with new stories daily, so there’s always something new to read whenever you visit. The good news is that it’s all fictional, so even though some of the stories blur the lines between reality and the supernatural, you can feel comfortable knowing that it’s written by someone who’s letting their creativity run wild.

Either way, if you’re looking for supernatural short stories, I can’t recommend Creepypasta enough. When you’re on the site, scroll down to see the top-rated stories for the best experience.

FrightFind

If you want to find haunted houses near you, FrightFind has an extensive database of scary places to visit. You’ll need to filter by state to see all the haunted places nearby.

Additionally, you can also check out any scary events happening in your state through FrightFind. For example, I found some cemetery ghost tours near me that I had never heard of before.

If you’re not actually looking to visit a place, you can still find a lot of information about haunted places on FrightFind. Even reading some of these accounts can be quite scary. In my opinion, this is a scary website worth sharing with your friends.

Haunted Houses

Like FrightFind above, Haunted Houses lets you search for haunted places across the country. But what makes it different is the interactive map on the homepage. Once you’re on the homepage, click on any state of your choice, and you’ll be immediately shown all the haunted places in that area.

Some of these haunted houses/sites have quite detailed descriptions and photos that let you dive deeper into the eerie history of the property. The website also has several videos from paranormal investigators who share their real-life experiences, which I also found interesting. Overall, there’s a lot to explore on the haunted house website, and it’s a great way to spend a few hours.

Homicide Monitor

Homicide Monitor is different from the websites we’ve mentioned so far because it provides information about a serious topic—global murder rates. The site has an interactive globe; selecting any country brings up the latest data on murder rates and provides statistics on how these rates have changed over time.

You can also look at murder rates for major cities in different countries to better understand how these cases are distributed across the country. While this is certainly not scary in the supernatural sense, I find it quite shocking and frightening, considering that it reflects the harsh realities that many of us face.

Hashima Island

Have you ever wanted to visit an abandoned place? Why not explore Hashima Island from the comfort of your own home? The island was once a thriving coal mining town located about nine miles from Nagasaki, Japan.

However, since 1974, it has been completely abandoned, but you can visit it digitally through this website and also explore some of the spooky places within the island, such as the Nikkō Flats, the Stairway to Hell, and the infamous Coal Mine. While you are exploring these places, don’t forget the horrifying details that come to the right. They make the whole experience even more terrifying.
